NPP Krško has undergone in last 5 years (1991 – 1996) a major safety analysis review and assesment. All this activitis can be devided in four different categories:

First category is international mission. Four different missions visited Krško since 1991 (ICISA, OSART, WANO and ASSET)

Second category is one of the most systematic and comprehensive PSA analysis conducted at nuclear power plants which included Level 1, Level 2, External events and combination of PSA and deterministic assesment of shutdown modes. Third category represents the systematic review and creation a list of the NRC regulatory requirements isued since 1975 to 1995 and aplicable to NPP Krško. About 1000 items wer on the list and compliance review was conducted for all items applicable to NPP Krško. Fourth category is review of all modifications which were performed at NPP Krško and determination whether each modification met the intended goal, wheathar adequate 50.59 review has been conducted and whethear all applicable documents were updated. All four categories included at different level of details, safety review of all areas in design, operation maintenance, admministratione control and tehnical support (i.e., radiation, protection, fuels, survaillance, emergency planning and engineering activitis). All this activities in last 5 years resulted in different lists of issues which are now under inplementation and many of them are already resolved and completed.

If all this activities are integrated into one single systematic and comprehensive effort they can be by it content and form compared to the periodic safety review and assessment conducted at many countries in Europe.

The purpose of this paper is to present the scope, content methods and results of all safety review and assesment activities performed at NPP Krško in last 5 years.
