American Association
of Avalanche Professionals The
American Avalanche Association (AAA) is comprised of a collective
group of dedicated professionals engaged in the study, forecasting,
control and mitigation of snow avalanches. Association membership
includes qualified researchers, professional avalanche forecasters,
snow safety officers, snow rangers and qualified ski patrollers,
technicians and specialists.

Canadian
Avalanche Association The
Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) is a registered non-profit
Society that represents the avalanche community in Canada by
promoting scientific and technical knowledge, standards and
communications. The CAA delivers avalanche accident prevention by
training avalanche workers for industry, supporting public avalanche
awareness programs, and providing avalanche information bulletins
for the public. The CAA’s activities are managed from the Canadian

National Snow
and Ice Data Center The National Snow and Ice
Data Center (NSIDC) is one of eight
archives participating in NASA's Earth Observing System Data and
Information System (EOSDIS) as a Distributed Active Archive Center (DAAC).
The NSIDC DAAC exists to help broaden understanding of snow and ice,
of their properties, characteristics and contexts, and of their
significance for human activity. Toward this end, we preserve
important snow and ice data sets, and make them available to
researchers.

Niwot
Ridge LTER Welcome to the home page for the
Niwot Ridge Long-Term Ecological Research (NWT LTER) program. This
page is designed to provide both non- and NWT LTER scientists with
ready access to site-based information and data. LTER
was established by the National
Science Foundation to conduct research on long-term
ecological phenomena in an array of ecosystems within the United
States. Niwot Ridge is the sole alpine tundra site and is located
approximately 35 km west of Boulder, CO. NWT LTER research is also
facilitated by affiliations with several other associated
institutions.
