bulletSelected Current Aerospace Notices  Selected Current Aerospace Notices (SCAN) is an electronic current awareness journal, published twice monthly that brings to your attention recently issued report and journal literature pertaining to aeronautics and aerospace research. SCAN covers the full spectrum of aeronautics and aerospace information, but segments it into subject groupings or topics, which are narrower in scope than those provided by Scientific and Technical Aerospace Reports (STAR). Furthermore, SCAN announces documents simultaneously in all relevant topics. Document citations announced in STAR are presented in only the one subject category deemed most appropiate.

If you are the publisher or author of a book, and you would like to have it added to this catalog, see Publishers Information.

bulletComputational Gasdynamics, CFD Books Here is a list of books I recommend for those interested in computational gasdynamics. I have used the author's own words, as they appear in the preface or back cover, to describe each book. I have also included a brief description of my own, plus content comparison charts at the bottom of the page. The books on this list are all quite different in content and basic conception. The requirements for inclusion on this list are as follows: computational gasdynamics must be an integral part of the book; the book must be in my personal collection; the book must be in print; and the book must have a degree of merit. The requirement for substantial computational gasdynamics content explains the omission of books such as Ferziger and Peric, Roache, and others mainly preoccupied with viscous and turbulent flows. I have omitted edited collections and literature surveys. However, along these lines, some may find the annual von Karman Institute lecture series monographs helpful. For a more complete list of CFD and fluids books, click here.

bulletNumerical methods for 1D compressible flows  An interactive book by M.Manzini, A.Ticca, G.Zanetti

bulletNumerical Recipes  This  book is now available  online in both C and Fortran versions!

bulletMason's Applied Computational Aerodynamics Text  This is a work in progress (for over 6 years!). Starting in 1997, the material is being made available electronically using a hybrid html/acrobat approach. It appears most practical to provide a top page in html, while allowing students to download individual sections as Adobe Acrobat files. The emphasis is on subject mater, and not the multimedia framework. I have not yet been able to devote the time required to produce a modern electronic document. Also, some equations and figures may not print perfectly. Much of the material was created before the current methods and standards existed. The entire outline is provided, although not all sections are available for download yet. In some cases copyright permission has not been obtained for figures, and thus, some figures are not yet available. Chapters and Appendices will be added as they are available.
